Happy Hardcore never went away.
It just stopped being treated seriously

Over the past few years, we’ve watched it get rediscovered, repackaged and occasionally rinsed within an inch of its life. Some of that’s been great. Some of it… less so. What’s been missing, though, is intent. A sense that this sound actually means something again, rather than being a novelty throwback or a quick algorithm grab.

That’s where PhaseJ comes in.

PhaseJ is a new alias from Alphajay, created specifically to explore the faster, brighter, more unapologetic end of the rave spectrum – without watering it down, parodying it, or pretending it’s something it isn’t. This first release isn’t about nostalgia for the sake of it. It’s about energy, momentum, and writing music that works on a system, in a room, with people actually losing their minds.

And yes – this will be the first release on our new Happy Hardcore imprint, C&D Bounce.

We’ve already spoken about the label itself here, but this release exists for one simple reason: we wanted to put the music first.

No gimmicks. No forced hype. No pretending we’ve reinvented the wheel. Just a release that does what Happy Hardcore has always done at its best. Move fast. Hit hard, and make people feel something.

This is also us being honest. Launching a new imprint with an alter-ego isn’t the safest or most “marketable” play. But Cease & Desist has never been about playing it safe. We’d rather stand behind something we believe in than chase whatever’s trending this week.

The release drops on 6th March, with pre-release promotion beginning 9th February. More details, previews and context will follow – and yes, we fully expect opinions. We’re fine with that. Healthy scenes are built on discussion, not silence.

If you’re here for polished, focus-grouped nostaglia, this probably isn’t for you.
If you’re here for forward-facing rave music with roots and purpose – welcome in.

More soon.
